In 2003-04, there was an annual average 209,200 employed persons in Tasmania. This figure included 114,900 males and 94,300 females. Over the same period, 39,300 persons were employed as Intermediate clerical, sales and service workers (18.8% of employed persons), 33,600 persons were employed as Professionals (16.1% of employed persons) and 28,400 persons were employed as Tradespersons and related workers (13.6% of employed persons).
