Pigs are mainly raised in the Murray, South Eastern and Central West Statistical Divisions (SDs). Pig numbers in NSW stood at 729,200 at 30 June 2003.

At 30 June 2003, 36% of pigs in NSW were found in the Murray SD (264,900). This was followed by the South Eastern SD with 83,500.
