Change in scope for Government Financial Estimates (GFE)


Government Financial Estimates, Australia, Electronic Delivery : 2004-05 (cat. no. 5501.0.55.001) is due to be released on Friday 29 October 2004.

Commencing from Friday's release, the electronic publication will contain general government data only. Government Financial Estimates (GFE) releases will no longer include any Public Non-financial Corporation or Non-financial Public Sector tables. The General Government Expenses by Purpose (2 digit) table is also no longer being produced.

Information on expenses by purpose and for sectors other than the general government sector for completed rather than forecast financial years will continue to be available in Government Finance Statistics, Australia (cat. no. 5512.0), released in April each year.

The release contains the following Operating Statement and Cash Flow Statement details for the Commonwealth Government and each State and Territory Government. It also includes consolidated results for each level of government, i.e. Commonwealth, State, Local, Multi-jurisdictional, and All levels of government.
