MEAT PRODUCTION

Meat production quarterly trend movements for September 2014:

Beef:
Beef production was 643,000 tonnes, an increase of 2%.

Veal:
Veal production was 10,100 tonnes, a decrease of 2%.

Mutton:
Mutton production remained steady at 57,600 tonnes.

Lamb:
Lamb production was 124,000 tonnes, an increase of 2%.

Pig meat:
Pig meat production remained steady at 90,400 tonnes.

Total red meat:
Total red meat production was 925,000, an increase of 2%.

Chicken meat:
Chicken meat production was 278,000, an increase of 1%.
