Tomatoes are a significant vegetable crop grown in NSW. Most tomatoes are grown in the Murray and Murrumbidgee Statistical Divisions.

Increased plantings and an improved yield in 2000-01 resulted in a significant rise in production from the previous year, to 103,000 tonnes.

In 2000-01, 46% of all tomatoes produced in NSW came from the Murray Statistical Division (47,000 tonnes). This was followed by the Murrumbidgee Statistical Division with 43,000 tonnes.
