ANALYSIS - TOTAL RETAIL TOTAL RETAIL - QUARTERLY In volume terms, the seasonally adjusted estimate for the June quarter 2013 was relatively unchanged (0.0%) following a rise of 2.0% in the March quarter 2013 and a rise of 0.2% in the December quarter 2012. In the June quarter 2013, the seasonally adjusted estimate rose in volume terms for Cafes, restaurants and takeaway food services (0.6%), Other retailing (0.2%), Clothing, footwear and personal accessory retailing (0.4%) and Food retailing (0.1%). Household goods retailing (-1.1%) and Department Stores (-1.0%) fell in seasonally adjusted terms in the June quarter 2013. The Implicit Price Deflator for Australian turnover rose 0.1% in seasonally adjusted terms in the June quarter 2013. TOTAL RETAIL - BY STATE The following states and territories rose in trend terms in June 2013: New South Wales (0.2%), Queensland (0.1%), Western Australia (0.2%), South Australia (0.2%) and the Australian Capital Territory (0.1%). Victoria (-0.1%), Tasmania (-0.4%) and the Northern Territory (-0.3%) fell in trend terms in June 2013. The following states and territories rose in seasonally adjusted terms in June 2013: Victoria (0.1%), the Australian Capital Territory (1.3%), South Australia (0.3%) and Queensland (0.1%). New South Wales was relatively unchanged (0.0%). Western Australia (-0.4%), the Northern Territory (-0.4%) and Tasmania (-0.1%) fell in seasonally adjusted terms in June 2013. In the June quarter 2013, the seasonally adjusted estimate rose in volume terms in the following states: New South Wales (0.3%), Western Australia (0.3%), South Australia (0.6%) and Queensland (0.1%). Victoria (-0.7%), Tasmania (-1.9%), the Northern Territory (-1.5%) and the Australian Capital Territory (-0.3%) fell in seasonally adjusted terms in the June quarter 2013.
