In the December quarter 2008, the trend estimate for beef production remained steady at 540 thousand tonnes. MUTTON AND LAMB In the December quarter 2008, the trend estimate for mutton production decreased 4% to 61 thousand tonnes. The trend estimate for lamb production this quarter increased by 2% to 104 thousand tonnes. TOTAL RED MEAT The trend estimate for total red meat production remained steady at 794 thousand tonnes in the December quarter 2008.
