BUILDING APPROVALS The trend estimate for Australia rose 0.7% in July. In seasonally adjusted terms the estimate fell 1.7% to 18,299 dwellings. NUMBER OF PRIVATE SECTOR HOUSES The trend estimate for private sector houses approved rose 1.0% in July. In seasonally adjusted terms the estimate was flat at 9,743 houses. NUMBER OF PRIVATE SECTOR DWELLINGS EXCLUDING HOUSES The trend estimate for private sector dwelling units excluding houses rose 0.1% in July. In seasonally adjusted terms the estimate fell 6.7% to 8,080 dwellings. VALUE OF NEW RESIDENTIAL BUILDING The trend estimate for the value of new residential building approved fell 0.2% in July and has fallen for four months. VALUE OF ALTERATIONS AND ADDITIONS TO RESIDENTIAL BUILDING The trend estimate for the value of alterations and additions to residential building rose 1.8% in July and has risen for three months. VALUE OF NON-RESIDENTIAL BUILDING The trend estimate for the value of non-residential building approved rose 3.1% in July and has risen for six months.
