The 2011 edition focuses on energy use and conservation. It presents data on sources of energy used in households, use of energy for different activities (e.g. water heating, cooking), whether the dwelling has insulation and the types of heating and cooling systems and selected appliances that households use.

Some results from similar past surveys (2005 and 2008) have been included in the publication for purposes of comparison.

The initial release will contain a publication and Data Cube. An additional Data Cube is expected to be appended to this product in November 2011.
