The climate, terrain and vegetation of NSW are well suited for breeding and grazing of livestock. Sheep grazing continues to be the main livestock activity across the state. Beef cattle are also found in all Statistical Divisions (SDs) of NSW. Dairying is predominantly located along the coastal fringes of the state; pigs are mainly raised in Murray, Northern and Central West SDs.
