DWELLING UNITS APPROVED STATE TRENDS The trend estimate for total number of dwelling units approved in New South Wales fell 4.0% in December 2011 and has now decreased for 4 months. The trend estimate for the number of private sector houses fell 0.2% in December and has now fallen for 3 months. VICTORIA The trend estimate for total number of dwelling units approved in Victoria fell 1.4% in December and has fallen for 15 months. The trend estimate for the number of private sector houses fell 0.6% in December and has now fallen for 24 months. QUEENSLAND The trend estimate for total number of dwelling units approved in Queensland rose 1.4% in December after falling for the previous 5 months. The trend estimate for the number of private sector houses rose 3.1% in December and has now risen for 4 months. SOUTH AUSTRALIA The trend estimate for total number of dwelling units approved in South Australia fell 0.8% in December and is now showing falls for 9 months. The trend estimate for the number of private sector houses fell 0.9% in December and has now fallen for 7 months. WESTERN AUSTRALIA The trend estimate for total number of dwelling units approved in Western Australia fell 2.1% in December and has now decreased for 5 months.
