This release of June quarter 2013 data is the last of the quarterly data collection and release activities for the STA. From 1 July 2013 the collection frequency of the STA moved from quarterly to annual, on a financial year basis. The next release of STA data will be on 19 December 2014 and will include the four quarters of the 2013-14 financial year, that is September quarter 2013, December quarter 2013, March quarter 2014 and June quarter 2014.

This release contains information on the supply of, and demand for, tourist accommodation facilities. Data include number of establishments, capacity and employment for the June quarter 2013 and occupancy and takings from accommodation for each month; by type of establishment and star rating. Data are presented for each state/territory and Australia, and by Tourism Region and Statistical Area Level 2.

Results are for hotels, motels and guest houses with 15 or more rooms and serviced apartments with 15 or more units.
