New Releases from the Sports Section!
The National Centre for Culture and Recreation Statistics (NCCRS) will be releasing a new publication this month, titled Sport and Social Capital, Australia, 2006 (cat. no. 4917.0). This publication will consist of a report and an Excel spreadsheet datacube. The report examines the associations between participation in sport and physical recreation and social well-being using a range of indicators from the 2006 General Social Survey. A datacube containing the information analysed for this report will also be available.
In our last newsletter we mentioned the new publication Volunteers in Sport, Australia, 2006 (cat. no. 4440.0.55.001), which was released in October 2008. This publication currently consists of two data cubes that present summary data on sports volunteers from the 2006 General Social Survey. NCCRS has undertaken additional analysis of this data and will be releasing a report under the same name and catalogue number later this month.
