This publication provides analysis of the number and characteristics of Australia's exporters. Estimates on exporters of merchandise trade are compiled from data sourced from the Department of Home Affairs (Home Affairs) and from the Australian Taxation Office's (ATO) Australian Business Register. INTERNATIONAL MERCHANDISE TRADE, AUSTRALIA: CONCEPTS, SOURCES AND METHODS A new issue of the International Merchandise Trade, Australia: Concepts, Sources and Methods (cat. no. 5489.0) was released on the ABS website on 29 June 2018. In the new issue, the contents of Appendices 6.1 and 6.2 were updated with the most up to date commodity classifications, including the statistical codes that opened on 1 July 2018.
