Data are provided by Diabetes Australia (who operate the National Diabetes Services Scheme) and the Australasian Paediatric Endocrine Group who collect information about children with diabetes. SCOPE The NDR includes all persons who began using insulin for management of diabetes on and since 1 January 1999, and who have consented to be included in the Register. These include persons using insulin to manage Type 1, gestational and Type 2 diabetes. DATA DETAIL Data items collected include:
GEOGRAPHIC DETAIL All states and territories. AVAILABILITY OF DATA AND PUBLICATIONS Annual Statistical Profile reports and other smaller special topic publications can be accessed via the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare website. Aggregate, de-identified data may be available on request. Unit record data may be available for research purposes pending clearance by the researcher’s host ethics committee and the AIHW Ethics Committee. For further information see contact details below.
