STATE OR TERRITORY OF USUAL RESIDENCE Where a person lives may impact upon their ability to access services, as well as the types of services available to them. While the level of unmet need was similar across urban and regional/remote areas, there were some differences between the states and territories. In 2012, people needing formal assistance in Western Australia were more likely to report that they had an unmet need for that assistance (58.6%) than those living in New South Wales (47.6%) and the Australian Capital Territory (48.5%). Care must be taken when analysing the differences among states and territories as any differences may reflect the underlying age structure within the geographical area.
