Truth, Damned Truth and Statistics - Australian Statistician addresses the National Press Club on 9 March The Australian Statistician, Dennis Trewin, addressed the National Press Club on 9 March 2005 to mark 2005 as the centenary of the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS). Mr Trewin discussed the ABS's role in a democracy, the ABS centenary, what has changed and not changed over 100 years of statistics, the ABS as a statistical provider and the ABS as a statistical leader.
