Pigs are mainly raised in the Murray, Northern and Central West Statistical Divisions (SDs). Pig numbers in NSW stood at 833,000 at 30 June 2002.

At 30 June 2002, most pigs (39%) in NSW were found in the Murray SD (323,000). This was followed by the Northern SD with 90,000.
