CHANGES IN THIS ISSUE

This issue of this publication presents the clay bricks data series in standard brick equivalents (SBE) for the first time. Prior to this, clay bricks were reported by the number of bricks (million). The clay bricks series (million SBE) commences from the September quarter 2000 and the clay bricks data (million) has been discontinued from June quarter 2005. DATA NOTES

This publication presents quarterly estimates of selected indicators of manufacturing production in Australia.

More detailed breakdowns and other commodity items collected by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) are available on request for a charge. Monthly series are also available for a limited number of data items. Items for which additional production data are available are listed in paragraph 7 of the Explanatory Notes.

Where figures have been rounded, discrepancies may occur between sums of the component items and totals.

The ABS releases selected data items from the Manufacturing Commodity collections on a quarterly basis in this publication and also releases more detailed breakdowns and other commodity items on a monthly, quarterly, half-yearly and annual basis on request for a charge. Details on the release dates of the preliminary Pre-mixed concrete production data for capital cities and final monthly Pre-mixed concrete, Water heating equipment and Plasterboard data are specified below.
