TREND
- The June quarter trend estimate of the total value of building work commenced fell 1.0% from the revised March quarter estimate.
- The value of new residential building commenced fell 0.6%. New house commencements rose 0.4% and new other residential commencements fell 2.7%. The value of commencements for alterations and additions to residential buildings fell 2.7%. The value of non-residential building fell by 0.9%.
Value of Work Commenced in Volume Terms, Trend
SEASONALLY ADJUSTED
- In seasonally adjusted terms, the estimate of the total value of building work commenced in the June quarter fell 4.2% from the revised March quarter estimate.
- Commencements of new residential buildings fell 3.0%, to $7,836.7m. New house commencements fell 1.4%, to $5,649.6m, while new other residential building fell 6.8%, to $2,187.1m. Alterations and additions rose 4.4%, to $1,444.2m. Non-residential work commenced fell 7.5%, to $6,114.6m.
