Summary Comments
State Final Demand
- In trend terms, growth during the quarter was strongest for the Australian Capital Territory (up 1.7%), and Western Australia (up 1.6%). The Northern Territory and Queensland were the weakest, with growth of -0.2% and -0.1% respectively.
Household final consumption expenditure
- In trend terms, there was growth across all States, ranging from 0.4% in the Australian Capital Territory to 1.0% in Western Australia.
Government final consumption expenditure
- In trend terms, there was growth across all States, ranging from 0.6% in Victoria to 1.2% in Queensland.
Private gross fixed capital formation
- In trend terms, the weakest growth was recorded in the Northern Territory (down 4.0%) and Queensland (down 1.4%). The strongest positive growth was recorded in the Australian Capital Territory (up 6.1%), and Tasmania (up 3.7%).
Public gross fixed capital formation
- In trend terms, growth across States ranged from -2.9% in Queensland to 3.2% in the Australian Capital Territory.
