INNOVATION STILL IN DEVELOPMENT
More than one in five businesses had innovation still in development as at 30 June 2015 (21%). Across innovation types, marketing methods was the most common type of innovation still in development (10%). In 2014-15, businesses in the Wholesale trade industry were the most likely to have innovation still in development (35%). By comparison, 11% of businesses in the Transport, postal and warehousing industry had innovation still in development. The Manufacturing industry had the highest proportion of businesses with operational processes (15%) and organisational/managerial processes (14%) still in development. While businesses in the Wholesale trade industry had the highest proportion of businesses with goods or services (20%) and marketing methods (18%) in development.
