Errors have been detected for a small number of the figures in Tables 4, 5 and 6 of the Australian Historical Population Statistics (cat. no. 3105.0.65.001), which was released on 26 April 2001 and updated in 2002 and 2003. The figures affected are:

Table 5: Annual population growth (%) by sex, states and territories, year ended 31 December (1788 onwards) - 1970 and 1971 figures for males in WA, and persons in WA and Australia.

Figures for all other years, states and territories are not affected.
