WHEAT GRAIN COMMITTED
In February 2010, wheat grain committed for domestic use or export dropped marginally (1%) to 4.9 million tonnes. Of the total wheat grain committed,
3.5 million tonnes was contracted for export and 1.4 million tonnes for domestic use.
The only states reporting increased export commitments from January 2010 were New South Wales (21%increase) and
Western Australia (13% increase).
Compared to February 2009, wheat grain committed for export fell by 5%, while wheat grain committed for domestic use increased by 32% in
February 2010.
