METHODS OF RECEIVING ORDERS VIA THE INTERNET
Businesses which received orders via the internet were asked to identify ways in which these orders were received. Businesses could identify more than one way of receiving orders.
Email not linked to website was the most common method of receiving orders via the internet (63%), followed by website with linked email facility (37%).
Email not linked to website was the most common method for the three smaller employment size groups; ranging from 54% for business with 20-199 persons employed to 65% for businesses with 0-4 persons employed. Businesses with 200 or more persons employed were the most likely to have a website with online order form (36%).

Businesses in Retail trade were the most likely to have a
website with shopping cart (42%), whereas those in Construction had the highest proportion of businesses with
email not linked to website (82%).
