MALES EMPLOYED FULL TIME

The trend estimate for males employed full time generally rose from 4,235,600 in November 1997 to 4,398,900 in August 2000 before falling to 4,336,100 in July 2001. The trend has then generally risen to stand at 4,947,500 in November 2007.

MALES EMPLOYED PART TIME

The trend estimate of males employed part time rose from 584,800 in November 1997 to 630,600 in March 1999 before falling to 613,600 in October 1999. The trend then rose to 870,100 in December 2006, before remaining relatively stable to stand at 860,600 in November 2007.

EMPLOYED FEMALES


TOTAL

The trend estimate of employed females rose from 3,672,800 in November 1997 to 4,239,700 in April 2003, with strong growth in late 2002. After six months of being stable the trend has risen to stand at 4,751,700 in November 2007.

FEMALES EMPLOYED FULL TIME

The trend estimate of females employed full time generally rose from 2,074,400 in November 1997 to 2,271,700 in March 2001. The trend then fell to 2,222,900 in March 2002, before generally rising to stand at 2,629,800 in November 2007.

FEMALES EMPLOYED PART TIME

The trend estimate of females employed part time rose steadily from 1,598,400 in November 1997 to 1,949,200 in April 2003. The trend then decreased to 1,925,000 in December 2003, before generally rising to stand at 2,121,900 in November 2007.
