BUILDING APPROVALS AUSTRALIA The trend estimate for Australia rose 1.3% in January. In seasonally adjusted terms the estimate rose 7.9% to 19,282 dwellings. NUMBER OF PRIVATE SECTOR HOUSES The trend estimate for private sector houses approved was flat in January. In seasonally adjusted terms the estimate rose 0.4% to 9,449 houses. NUMBER OF PRIVATE SECTOR DWELLINGS EXCLUDING HOUSES The trend estimate for private sector dwelling units excluding houses rose 2.6% in January. In seasonally adjusted terms the estimate rose 19.6% to 9,566 dwellings. VALUE OF NEW RESIDENTIAL BUILDING The trend estimate for the value of new residential building approved rose 3.3% in January and has risen for 10 months. VALUE OF ALTERATIONS AND ADDITIONS TO RESIDENTIAL BUILDING The trend estimate for the value of alterations and additions to residential building fell 0.4% in January and has fallen for four months. VALUE OF NON-RESIDENTIAL BUILDING The trend estimate for the value of non-residential building approved rose 1.4% in January and has risen for three months.
