Mobile handset subscriber numbers

As at 31 December 2014, there were 21.0 million mobile handset subscribers in Australia, an increase of 2% from 20.6 million subscribers at the end of June 2014.

Mobile handset subscriber downloads

The volume of data downloaded via mobile handsets for the three months ended 31 December 2014 was 52,745 Terabytes, a 36% increase from the three months ended 30 June 2014. This represents 4% of total data downloaded.

For the 21.0 million mobile handset subscribers, this equates to 0.8 GB of data downloaded per subscriber per month.
