BUILDING APPROVALS AUSTRALIA The trend estimate for Australia rose 1.1% in January. In seasonally adjusted terms the estimate fell 2.4% to 12,920 dwellings. NUMBER OF PRIVATE SECTOR HOUSES The trend estimate for private sector houses approved fell 0.4% in January. In seasonally adjusted terms the estimate rose 3.2% to 7,484 houses. NUMBER OF PRIVATE SECTOR DWELLINGS EXCLUDING HOUSES The trend estimate for private sector dwelling units excluding houses rose 3.0% in January. In seasonally adjusted terms the estimate fell 9.1% to 5,251 dwellings. VALUE OF NEW RESIDENTIAL BUILDING The trend estimate for the value of new residential building approved rose 1.6% in January and has risen for 12 months. VALUE OF ALTERATIONS AND ADDITIONS TO RESIDENTIAL BUILDING The trend estimate for the value of alterations and additions to residential building fell 0.5% in January and has fallen for six months. VALUE OF NON-RESIDENTIAL BUILDING The trend estimate for the value of non-residential building approved rose 1.0% in January and has risen for three months.
