DWELLING UNITS APPROVED The trend estimate for total number of dwelling units approved in New South Wales fell 3.4% in March 2009 and has fallen for 15 months. The trend estimate for the number of private sector houses fell 0.5% and has fallen for 15 months. VICTORIA The trend estimate for total number of dwelling units approved in Victoria rose 3.7% in March and has risen for four months. The trend estimate for the number of private sector houses rose 1.6% and has risen for four months. QUEENSLAND The trend estimate for total number of dwelling units approved in Queensland fell 3.1% in March and has fallen for 17 months. The trend estimate for the number of private sector houses fell 1.9% and has fallen for 17 months. SOUTH AUSTRALIA The trend estimate for total number of dwelling units approved in South Australia rose 0.5% in March and is now showing increases for two months. The trend estimate for the number of private sector houses rose 1.5% and has risen for three months. WESTERN AUSTRALIA The trend estimate for total number of dwelling units approved in Western Australia rose 1.0% in March, the first rise since December 2007.
