BUILDING APPROVALS AUSTRALIA The trend estimate for Australia rose 1.8% in March. In seasonally adjusted terms the estimate rose 2.8% to 19,419 dwellings. NUMBER OF PRIVATE SECTOR HOUSES The trend estimate for private sector houses approved rose 0.2% in March. In seasonally adjusted terms the estimate rose 1.1% to 9,551 houses. NUMBER OF PRIVATE SECTOR DWELLINGS EXCLUDING HOUSES The trend estimate for private sector dwelling units excluding houses rose 3.6% in March. In seasonally adjusted terms the estimate rose 5.3% to 9,710 dwellings. VALUE OF NEW RESIDENTIAL BUILDING The trend estimate for the value of new residential building approved rose 2.7% in March and has risen for 12 months. VALUE OF ALTERATIONS AND ADDITIONS TO RESIDENTIAL BUILDING The trend estimate for the value of alterations and additions to residential building rose 0.4% in March and has risen for four months. VALUE OF NON-RESIDENTIAL BUILDING The trend estimate for the value of non-residential building approved fell 2.8% in March and has fallen for four months.
