ANALYSIS - TOTAL RETAIL TOTAL RETAIL - QUARTERLY In volume terms, the seasonally adjusted estimate for the June quarter 2015 rose 0.8% following a rise of 0.6% in the March quarter 2015 and a rise of 1.2% in the December quarter 2014. In the June quarter 2015, the seasonally adjusted estimate rose in volume terms for Food retailing (0.6%), Household goods retailing (1.1%), Clothing, footwear and personal accessory retailing (1.9%), Other retailing (0.9%) and Cafes, restaurants and takeaway food services (0.2%). Department stores (-0.5%) fell in volume terms in the June quarter 2015. The Implicit Price Deflator for Australian turnover was relatively unchanged (0.0%) in seasonally adjusted terms in the June quarter 2015. TOTAL RETAIL - BY STATE The following states and territories rose in trend terms in June 2015: New South Wales (0.5%), Victoria (0.3%), South Australia (0.4%), the Australian Capital Territory (0.5%), Western Australia (0.1%), Tasmania (0.2%) and the Northern Territory (0.2%). Queensland (0.0%) was relatively unchanged. The following states and territories rose in seasonally adjusted terms in June 2015: New South Wales (1.0%), Victoria (0.8%), South Australia (0.8%), Queensland (0.2%), Western Australia (0.2%), the Northern Territory (0.8%) and the Australian Capital Territory (0.2%). Tasmania (0.0%) was relatively unchanged. In the June quarter 2015, the seasonally adjusted estimate rose in volume terms in the following states: New South Wales (1.3%), Victoria (1.0%), South Australia (1.0%), the Australian Capital Territory (2.1%), the Northern Territory (1.0%) and Tasmania (0.3%).
