BUILDING APPROVALS AUSTRALIA The trend estimate for Australia fell 1.2% in March. In seasonally adjusted terms the estimate fell 5.5% to 12,599 dwellings. NUMBER OF PRIVATE SECTOR HOUSES The trend estimate for private sector houses approved rose 0.2% in March. In seasonally adjusted terms the estimate rose 0.4% to 7,586 houses. NUMBER OF PRIVATE SECTOR DWELLINGS EXCLUDING HOUSES The trend estimate for private sector dwelling units excluding houses fell 3.1% in March. In seasonally adjusted terms the estimate fell 8.3% to 4,859 dwellings. VALUE OF NEW RESIDENTIAL BUILDING The trend estimate for the value of new residential building approved fell 2.9% in March and has fallen for three months. VALUE OF ALTERATIONS AND ADDITIONS TO RESIDENTIAL BUILDING The trend estimate for the value of alterations and additions to residential building rose 0.3% in March and has risen for four months. VALUE OF NON-RESIDENTIAL BUILDING The trend estimate for the value of non-residential building approved rose 3.6% in March and has risen for five months.
