DWELLING UNITS APPROVED STATE TRENDS The trend estimate for total number of dwelling units approved in New South Wales rose 4.5% in August 2009 and has risen for five months. The trend estimate for the number of private sector houses rose 2.0% and has risen for seven months. VICTORIA The trend estimate for total number of dwelling units approved in Victoria rose 1.4% in August and has risen for nine months. The trend estimate for the number of private sector houses rose 1.9% and has risen for nine months. QUEENSLAND The trend estimate for total number of dwelling units approved in Queensland rose 0.7% in August and has risen for six months. The trend estimate for the number of private sector houses rose 2.2% and has risen for seven months. SOUTH AUSTRALIA The trend estimate for total number of dwelling units approved in South Australia was flat in August following falls in the previous three months. The trend estimate for the number of private sector houses rose 0.8% and is now showing rises for eight months. WESTERN AUSTRALIA The trend estimate for total number of dwelling units approved in Western Australia rose 1.8% in August and has risen for seven months.
