Potatoes are the principal vegetable crop grown in NSW. Most potatoes are grown in the coastal areas, in particular in the Murrumbidgee and Murray Statistical Divisions.

Production in 2001-02 was 159,000 tonnes.

In 2001-02, 35% of all potatoes produced in NSW came from the Murrumbidgee Statistical Division (55,000 tonnes). This was closely followed by the Murray Statistical Division with 54,000 tonnes.
