BUILDING APPROVALS AUSTRALIA The trend estimate for Australia fell 0.7% in September 2011. The seasonally adjusted estimate for total dwellings approved fell 13.6% in September following a rise of 10.7% in the previous month. NUMBER OF PRIVATE SECTOR HOUSES The trend estimate for private sector houses approved fell 0.3% in September. In seasonally adjusted terms the estimate rose 1.1% to 7,689 houses. NUMBER OF PRIVATE SECTOR DWELLINGS EXCLUDING HOUSES The trend estimate for private sector dwellings excluding houses fell 1.4% in September. In seasonally adjusted terms the estimate fell 30.7% to 3,970 dwellings. VALUE OF NEW RESIDENTIAL BUILDING The trend estimate for the value of new residential building approved fell 0.2% in September 2011 after being flat the previous month. VALUE OF ALTERATIONS AND ADDITIONS TO RESIDENTIAL BUILDING The trend estimate for the value of alterations and additions to residential building fell 0.8% in September 2011 and has fallen for 5 months. VALUE OF NON-RESIDENTIAL BUILDING The trend estimate for the value of non-residential building approved fell 1.7% in September 2011 and has fallen for 10 months.
