Updated population projections based on the 2006 Census
Updated population projections for Australia, states, territories, capital cities and balances of states are scheduled for release in Population Projections, Australia, 2006 to 2101 (cat. no. 3222.0) in early September 2008. The projections span the period 2006 to 2101 and are based on 2006 Census results.
Consultations with key clients on the assumptions to be used in the projections are expected to occur in late-March 2008. To receive a copy of the proposed assumptions, please contact the Demography section via the demography@abs.gov.au email address.
