18/11/2009 Note: Minor corrections to amend two spelling mistakes: Notes section title amended to Revisions to Population Benchmarks; and commentary for Unemployed Persons: Trend Estimates - Females amended to reference females. All Labour Force estimates are not affected by these changes. FEMALES The trend estimates of unemployed females generally fell from 269,900 in October 1999 to 239,700 in September 2000. The trend then rose sharply to 290,200 in October 2001, before falling to 226,500 in March 2008. The trend has since risen to stand at 293,800 in October 2009. PERSONS The trend estimates of unemployed persons generally fell from 637,300 in October 1999 to 582,900 in September 2000. The trend then rose sharply to 682,100 in October 2001, before generally falling to 460,500 in March 2008. The trend has since risen to stand at 669,000 in October 2009.
