TOTAL PUBLIC SECTOR TIME SERIES

For the total public sector across all levels of government, GFS revenue increased by $23,823 million (5.4%) from $444,521 million in 2006-07 to $468,344 million in 2007-08. GFS expenses increased by $24,698 (6.0%) from $410,291 million to $434,989 million. As a result GFS net operating balance decreased by $875 million from $34,230 million in 2006-07 to $33,355 million in 2007-08

Between 30 June 2007 and 30 June 2008 GFS net worth across the total public sector increased by $147,929 million from $714,257 million to $862186 million.

For the Commonwealth Government total public sector, GFS revenue increased by $20,929 million (7.1%) from $293,697 million in 2006-07 to $314,626 million in 2007-08. GFS expenses increased by $15,345 (5.6%) from $274,270 million to $289,615 million. As a result GFS net operating balance increased by $5,584 million from $19,427 million in 2006-07 to $25,011 million in 2007-08

Between 30 June 2007 and 30 June 2008 GFS net worth across the for the Commonwealth Government total public sector increased by $36,109 million from $7,046 million to $43,155 million.

The data for 2006-07 has been impacted by the privatisation of Telstra on 20 November 2007.
