TAXATION REVENUE AS A PROPORTION OF GROSS DOMESTIC PRODUCT (GDP) Total taxation revenue as a proportion of GDP increased from 27.6% in 2014-15 to 28.1% in 2015-16. As a percentage of GDP, taxation revenue for the Commonwealth Government was 22.4%, state government 4.8% and local government 1.0%.
