An education in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) equips people with specific skills relevant to research and technical roles, and fosters a range of generic skills, knowledge and ways of thinking that are relevant to a wide range of occupations. Perspectives on Education and Training : Australians with qualifications in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) presents a snapshot of the level and nature of Australia’s current stock of human capital in the area of STEM and explores the range of occupations commonly held by STEM graduates.
