Australia's net worth reaches $1.8 trillion at June 1995 Australia's net worth reached $1.8 trillion dollars by 30 June 1995, according to the "Australian National Accounts: National Balance Sheet" estimates released today by the Australian Bureau of Statistics. In March 1995 the ABS first produced experimental estimates of Australia's balance sheet, including estimates of certain natural resources. Since then further work has been undertaken leading to today's release of estimates of Australia's balance sheet. Included in these estimates (provided for years ended 30 June 1989 to 1995) are the value of produced assets such as buildings, machinery and equipment, and other engineering structures as well as financial assets and liabilities as well as sub-soil assets, forest timber value and land.
