ATTENDANCE AT PRESCHOOL OR A PRESCHOOL PROGRAM
Of children aged 4-5 years who do not attend school (360,600), most usually attended a preschool or a preschool program (83%). Of those children who lived in couple families with both parents employed, 88% attended a preschool or preschool program. Three out of four children living in a one parent family attended a preschool or a preschool program regardless of whether the parent was employed (75% attended) or not (76% attended). Of those with one parent employed and the other not employed, 86% attended preschool or a preschool program, while 45% of those with neither parent employed attended.
