The following table presents the top ten source countries (based on original estimates) for short-term visitor arrivals during June 2019. When trend estimates for short-term visitor arrivals for June 2018 and June 2019 were compared, the highest percentage increases were recorded for Indonesia (13.2%), followed by the USA (11.7%) and Japan (10.6%). The highest percentage decreases were recorded for Malaysia (-10.0%), the UK (-1.0%) and China (-0.6%).
SHORT-TERM RESIDENT RETURNS In trend terms, short-term resident returns to Australia during June 2019 (951,900 movements) increased by 0.7% when compared with May 2019 (945,500 movements). In June 2019, short-term resident returns were 2.9% higher than in June 2018. SHORT-TERM RESIDENT RETURNS, Australia The following table presents the top ten destination countries (based on original estimates) for short-term resident returns in June 2019. When trend estimates for short-term resident returns for June 2018 and June 2019 were compared, the highest percentage increases were recorded for Italy (12.5%), Japan (11.9%) and Indonesia (5.3%). The highest percentage decreases were recorded for Singapore (-11.2%), the USA (-3.8%) and Thailand (-1.2%).
