CATTLE (EXCLUDING CALVES)

In the year to the June quarter 2009, the number of cattle (excluding calves) slaughtered decreased 3% to 1.9 million.


CALVES

The number of calves slaughtered increased less than 1% in the year to the June quarter 2009 to 203 thousand.


SHEEP AND LAMBS

In the year to the June quarter 2009, the number of sheep slaughtered fell 15% to 2.6 million while lamb slaughterings increased 6% to 5.3 milion.


PIGS

Over the last year, pig slaughterings decreased 11% to 1.1 million.


CHICKENS
