BUILDING APPROVALS The trend estimate for Australia rose 0.8% in March. In seasonally adjusted terms the estimate fell 13.4% to 16,484 dwellings. NUMBER OF PRIVATE SECTOR HOUSES The trend estimate for private sector houses approved fell 0.6% in March. In seasonally adjusted terms the estimate fell 4.3% to 8,942 houses. NUMBER OF PRIVATE SECTOR DWELLINGS EXCLUDING HOUSES The trend estimate for private sector dwelling units excluding houses rose 2.2% in March. In seasonally adjusted terms the estimate fell 22.5% to 7,289 dwellings. VALUE OF NEW RESIDENTIAL BUILDING The trend estimate for the value of new residential building approved rose 1.1% in March and has risen for three months. VALUE OF ALTERATIONS AND ADDITIONS TO RESIDENTIAL BUILDING The trend estimate for the value of alterations and additions to residential building rose 1.0% in March and has risen for seven months. VALUE OF NON-RESIDENTIAL BUILDING The trend estimate for the value of non-residential building approved fell 1.9% in March and has fallen for seven months.
