This article provides a brief overview of self-assessed levels of health in Australia in relation to demographic and socioeconomic indicators. Factors examined in relation to self-assessed health include age, sex, socioeconomic status, education, workforce participation, weight, exercise, alcohol consumption, smoking and the presence (or absence) of selected long term health conditions.

Previously known as Characteristics of People Reporting Good or Better Health. The change in name to Self-Assessed Health is in line with internationally recognised terminology.
