This article provides a brief overview of self-assessed levels of health in Australia in relation to demographic and socioeconomic indicators. Factors examined in relation to self-assessed health include age, sex, socioeconomic status, education, workforce participation, weight, exercise, alcohol consumption, smoking and the presence (or absence) of selected long term health conditions.
