BUILDING APPROVALS AUSTRALIA The trend estimate for Australia rose 1.5% in December. In seasonally adjusted terms the estimate fell 2.9% to 16,141 dwellings. NUMBER OF PRIVATE SECTOR HOUSES The trend estimate for private sector houses approved rose 1.1% in December. In seasonally adjusted terms the estimate fell 3.4% to 8,604 houses. NUMBER OF PRIVATE SECTOR DWELLINGS EXCLUDING HOUSES The trend estimate for private sector dwelling units excluding houses rose 2.2% in December. In seasonally adjusted terms the estimate fell 1.2% to 7,353 dwellings. VALUE OF NEW RESIDENTIAL BUILDING The trend estimate for the value of new residential building approved rose 2.5% in December and has risen for ten months. VALUE OF ALTERATIONS AND ADDITIONS TO RESIDENTIAL BUILDING The trend estimate for the value of alterations and additions to residential building was flat in December after rising for four months. VALUE OF NON-RESIDENTIAL BUILDING The trend estimate for the value of non-residential building approved rose 4.3% in December and has risen for five months.
