The general theme of public submissions was the development of a single portal for the collection, analysis and distribution of data. Suggestions included: · increased utilisation of electronic communication · a central repository listing all the information sources · a user-friendly interface that allows users to aggregate and disaggregate data to various spatial scales · the ability to produce customised data based on specific search queries entered by the user · the ability to access data through a single search portal rather than the user having to identify (and be aware of) the different locations for different data More specifically, one submission suggested the release of historical and consistent time series of Agricultural Census data, by commodities and with yearly climate adjusted estimates between survey years.
