Revised release date for Assets and Liabilities of Australian Securitisers

The release date for the December Quarter 2004 issue of Assets and Liabilities of Australian Securitisers (cat. no. 5232.0.40.001) has been brought forward to 11:30 am on 24 February 2005. The expected release date for this publication was previously at 11:30 am on 28 February 2005.

The revised release date will allow these statistics to be incorporated into the Financial Aggregates to be released by the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) on 28 February 2005. Figures released in this publication are an input into credit aggregates produced by the RBA. Data in the ABS release is reproduced in the Reserve Bank Bulletin in table B19.

Securitisers are specialist financial institutions that acquire mortgages and other assets from loan originators (such as banks and building societies) and finance the acquisition by issuing asset-backed securities. Investors in these securities include superannuation funds, life insurance companies and foreign investors.
